Here's something most people don't know

USPS will email you a photo of every piece of mail headed to your mailbox. Every morning. Before it even arrives. It's a free service called Informed Delivery, and about 60 million households already use it.

PostalDetox reads those daily previews. We look at every piece of mail, figure out what's junk and what actually matters, and start opting you out of the junk. You don't have to do anything after the initial setup.

The USPS Informed Delivery homepage — a free service that emails you photos of your mail before it arrives

Informed Delivery is free and takes about 2 minutes to set up at USPS.com.

Set it up once. We do the rest.

The one letter that matters shouldn't get lost in a pile of junk

Jeff's company lost their health insurance because the renewal letter got buried in a stack of credit card offers and Valpak coupons. He didn't even know he'd missed the deadline until someone tried to see a doctor.

— Jeff, real story

Doug got his bank account frozen because a Kentucky state filing notice got lost in the junk. By the time he found it, the deadline had passed and it took three weeks to sort out.

— Doug, PostalDetox founder

You shouldn't dread checking your mailbox. And the important stuff shouldn't have to compete with six catalogs and three credit card offers.

What you actually get

📬

Your mail, sorted daily

Every morning, we tell you what arrived: what's a bill, what's junk, and what needs your attention. No more guessing at the mailbox.

👆

One click to opt out

We figure out how to stop each mailer — email, web form, or postal letter — and do it for you. You just click "opt out." (OK, it might be two or three clicks. But we promise it's fast and easy.)

⏱️

5 minutes, then done

The initial setup takes about 5 minutes. After that, everything runs on autopilot. New junk mailer shows up? We catch it.

💰

Free forever, cheap to do more

The daily report and email opt-outs are free — forever. If you want us to mail physical opt-out letters, that's $3 a letter (Free plan) or $1.50 (Annual plan). Just enough to cover our stamp and paper.

🤝

We tell you what we can't stop

Some mail can't be stopped — political ads, "Resident" flyers, government notices. We'll tell you which and why, instead of pretending we can fix everything.

🌲

848 pieces of junk a year

That's how much the average American household gets. Multiply by 130 million homes and you start to see why this matters beyond your mailbox.

For home-based businesses

Running a business from home? Your mailbox is your office inbox.

IRS letters, state filings, insurance renewals, vendor invoices — they all land in the same mailbox as the Valpak coupons and credit card offers. When your business runs from your kitchen table, a missed letter can mean a frozen bank account or a lapsed policy.

PostalDetox makes sure the business-critical stuff never gets buried. And if you need receipt scanning or expense tracking, our parent company Shoeboxed does that.

5 things nobody tells you about postal junk mail

Other services bury this in the fine print. We put it on the homepage.

1

There is no Do Not Mail list.

There's a Do Not Call list for phone calls. Every email has an unsubscribe link. But postal mail? No federal law requires advertisers to stop mailing you. Nothing we — or anyone — can do changes that.

2

The national opt-out list only covers about 1,100 companies.

The advertising industry runs a voluntary registry called DMAchoice. About 1,100 companies check it before mailing. We handle the registration for you — it's included free with the $17/year plan, or $15 one-time on the free plan. But there are thousands of smaller mailers who aren't on that list and don't have to stop.

3

"Resident" mail can't be stopped. By anyone.

Mail addressed to "Resident" or "Postal Customer" isn't addressed to you — it goes to every mailbox on your street. There is no opt-out. That local pizza flyer and the oil change coupon? They're going to keep coming.

4

Political mail is protected by the First Amendment.

Campaign mailers, party fundraising letters, ballot measure flyers — they're all constitutionally protected speech. No service can stop them, no matter what they claim. Government notices will also keep coming because they're legally required.

5

What we can realistically do: cut your junk mail by 60-80%.

The big stuff goes away — credit card offers, catalogs, national mailer campaigns. We handle the opt-outs for you. The "Resident" flyers and political mail will keep coming. We'd rather tell you that upfront than promise 100% and disappoint you later.

Stop your postal junk mail. Keep what matters.

Free to start. 5 minutes to set up. We handle the rest.
